Promoting Research in Ferromagnetic and Ferroelectric Materials for Emerging Information Technologies
In May 2025, NUSRI Suzhou convened the Symposium on Ferromagnets and Ferroelectrics: Novel Information Materials and Device Applications. The event brought together experts and scholars from the National University of Singapore and more than 20 universities and research institutions across China, along with technical leaders from leading industry enterprises. Participants engaged in in-depth discussions on the latest research developments and industrial application prospects of ferromagnetic and ferroelectric materials.
The academic exchange sessions featured research presentations by experts from various universities, highlighting advances in magnetic materials for data storage, metal-based neuromorphic computing, topological magnetic materials, and ferroelectric polarisation mechanisms. To accelerate the translation of research into real-world applications, the symposium included a dedicated academia-industry collaboration session. Discussions were focused on technical feasibility, market potential, and commercialisation strategies, fostering partnerships for future innovation.
The symposium facilitated valuable connections between academic research and industrial application. Through targeted dialogue between researchers and industry professionals, it explored viable pathways for translating fundamental discoveries into practical solutions.
