New journey awaits Class of 2020



On 20 May 2021, the “3+1+1” Programme Commencement of Class of 2020 was held at NUSRI Suzhou. A total of 333 graduates attended the ceremony. Among them are pioneer graduates from six majors including Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE), Mechanical Engineering (ME), Materials Science and Engineering (MSE), Food Science and Technology (FST), Chemistry, and Industrial Systems Engineering and Management (ISEM). They have completed one-year bridging course and will pursue master’s degree at NUS in this August.



In his speech, NUSRI Suzhou Director Professor Xu Guo Qin offered heartfelt congratulations to the students who will continue their new journey at NUS. “Students should be confident and resolved to overcome challenges of their future studies. Everyone is encouraged to be inspired by a growth mindset, keeping innovative and transformative thinking to meet the changing needs of tomorrow,” he emphasised.








The Joint Educational Programme are jointly initiated by the National University of Singapore, National University of Singapore Suzhou Research Institute, and Chinese partner universities. It aims to enrich students with new knowledge and skills, developing their competencies and resilience in the ever-changing environment. To date, the programme has offered six majors, attracting 764 students to participate in.
