Innovfest Suzhou 2023:Deep Tech from Lab to Market



Innovfest Suzhou returned for a sixth edition from 9 to 10 October 2023 at the National University of Singapore Suzhou Research Institute (NUSRI), connecting entrepreneurs, corporates, investors, technology start-ups, professionals, academics, and government agencies from ASEAN countries such as Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Brunei and the rest of the world. This annual event aims to build a key cross-border platform to connect China companies with innovative ideas overseas, especially those from Singapore and beyond.



The event was attended by Mr NI Qian, Member of CPC SIP Working Committee, Vice Chairman of SIP Administrative Committee, Professor TAN Eng Chye, President of the National University of Singapore (NUS), and Ms THAM Wanrong, Deputy Consul-General, Consulate-General of the Republic of Singapore in Shanghai.






Themed “Deep Tech from Lab to Market: Building an Innovation and Entrepreneurship Ecosystem”, the two-day event featured insightful keynotes, forums, panel discussions, project showcases, investment pitching, talent dialogues, networking sessions, and industry visits. It spanned verticals such as AI+ Healthcare, Advanced Medical Devices, Ecological Environment, Green Energy, and Circular Economy amongst others.



Eminent academics, professionals, entrepreneurs, and corporate executives from ASEAN and China were invited to share their insights on the topics such as frontier healthcare, sustainability, and food technology and health.



As part of its aim to spur conversations on the innovation and sustainable development of deep-tech start-ups, NUS Alumni Forum attracted alumni, corporate partners, as well as thought leaders to share and discuss new ideas and best practices.



Leveraging on the research and innovation excellence of NUS, the event incorporated NUS Tech Start-up Roadshow and technology exhibition, bringing together over 30 deep-tech projects which cover the areas of smart medical technology, environmental technology, biomedical engineering, and artificial intelligence to showcase. The roadshow aims to provide a platform for Singapore and international technologies landing and venturing into the China market. During the session, participants were also given the opportunity to network with investors, entrepreneurial mentors, and peers.







To provide start-ups with a holistic view of the entrepreneurial policy and to enable them to confidently expand their businesses, the event featured an immersive workshop, which comprises a tour of the Suzhou Industrial Park, a company visit as well as a pitching session, with the aim of spurring and consolidating the start-up community in Suzhou.



Organised by NUSRI, in close partnership with NUS Enterprise, Innovfest Suzhou strives to bridge the gap between companies and the world’s leading innovators and technologists, serving as the epicenter for cutting-edge technologies and developing networks for bilateral cooperation between China and Singapore. Since 2015, the event has attracted more than 6,100 participants from over 2,400 companies and agencies, and showcased over 430 new innovation and technology projects from over 10 countries and regions.
