Minister of State for Trade and Industry Guides the Development of NUS (Suzhou) Research Institute (NUSRI)


On 21 May 2014, Minister Teo Ser Luck, Singapore’s Minister of State for Trade and Industry, among others, visited NUSRI. 



As Vice-Chairman of the Singapore-Jiangsu Joint Cooperation Council, Mr Teo Ser Luck has been committed to promoting greater industrial cooperation between Singapore and China. Minister Teo’s recent visit to NUSRI was primarily to understand NUSRI better and to discuss the building of the upcoming “China-Singapore International High-Tech Demonstration Centre”. 


After the conference, Minister Teo toured the NUSRI’s premises, including the laboratories, and Technology Transfer Centre. Minister Teo also had a dialogue with the Singapore High Tech entrepreneurs at our incubation centre. 


Minister Teo congratulated NUSRI on its achievements and expressed well wishes for it, as well as the upcoming International High-Tech Demonstration Centre. He also hopes NUSRI would be a platform to mould academic research international standards into commercially viable innovations. 


Ultimately, Minister Teo envisions NUSRI to be a bridge between China and Singapore, as it raises the output, productivity, and the technological competitiveness of both China and Singapore.
