NUSRI participates in administrative skills & team building training

On 21 March, 2012, members of NUSRI family participated in a two-day administrative skills and team building training programme at Jurong, Jiangsu Province. Such a programme has been in place for the past two years, and supported by resources from the National University of Singapore (NUS). The training this time was conducted by three colleagues from NUS, Angeline, Calista, and Maevis. They shared knowledge in financial policy, procurement, branding, and NUS culture. Such an exchange of knowledge and interaction has enhanced a better understanding of NUS as well as promotion of NUS spirit among members of NUSRI.

During the closing session, Professor Xu Guo Qin, Director of NUSRI, delivered a pictorial speech on “Innovation and Challenges” to inspire members of NUSRI and NUS. He shared the short history of NUSRI, and set the strategic direction of NUS to become a world renowned international research institute. Towards that, he made an analogy of the composition of the members of NUSRI with the “wolf culture” of being beautiful, smart, strategic, knowledgeable, risk-taking and team players.

On the whole, the training programme, centered at communication, trust, sharing, mutual cooperation, etc. has further enhanced mutual trust and understanding among members of NUSRI. It also prepared members of NUSRI with know-how to run NUSRI, just as the case of NUS, in an internationally recognized and professional way. (By Kidd)
