Forum announcement: Innovations in China's new urbanization: opportunities and challenges

The IRES GLP Research Center, National University of Singapore, the Center for New Urbanization, Zhejiang University, and Dongwu Business School, Soochow University, have come together to jointly organize a series of forums with the overarching theme titled ‘China's New Urbanization’. Its inaugural session will be held on 10 October 2015 at the Yuanzheng Qizhen Hotel, Zijingang Campus, Zhejiang University, Hangzhou. The discussion for this year’s forum centres on the topic: ‘Innovations in China's New Urbanization: Opportunities and Challenges’.   

This forum features 3 keynote speeches and 3 panel discussions, focusing on Innovations in the following aspects within China's New Urbanization, namely, ‘social governance’, ‘financing’, and ‘land systems and policies’. Amongst other very well-respected and distinguished speakers are Dr. Qiu Baoxing (Former Vice Minister, Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of the People's Republic of China; Counsellor, State Council of China; President, Chinese Society for Urban Studies), Dr. Zhuang Juzhong (Deputy Chief Economist and Deputy Director General, Economic Research and Regional Cooperation Department, Asian Development Bank), and Professor Lu Dadao (Academician, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS); Researcher, Geographical Sciences and Natural Resources Research, CAS).
