Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement signed by NUS, SJTU & SIPAC

The National University of Singapore (NUS), Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) and Suzhou Industrial Park Administrative Committee (SIPAC) signed a Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement on 21 March 2012. The signing ceremony was held in Suzhou Industrial Park and attended by Professor Tan Eng Chye, Deputy President and Provost of NUS; Professor Xu Guo Qin, Director of NUSRI SZ and Mr Liew Seow Ngow, Deputy Director of NUSRI SZ.

NUS and SJTU have been long-term collaborators since 1980s. The current agreement targets at areas such as environment and ecosystem, energy, and materials sciences. It also aims to bridge upstream research in universities to downstream industrial applications.

NUSRI SZ, currently the only overseas research institute of NUS, has been actively fostering research collaboration with first-class academic and research institutions in China. Through such collaboration and joint development to serve the regional economy, NUSRI SZ further spreads the good reputation and influence of NUS.
