Visit by Mr Jiang Yuejian, Deputy Director General, Dept of Science & Technology, Jiangsu Province

On the morning of July 22, Mr Jiang Yuejian, Deputy Director General, Department of Science and Technology, Jiangsu Province, led a delegation to pay an official visit to NUSRI. Members of the delegation include Mr Zhang Shaohua, Director (Enterprise); Ms Wu Qiuyun, Deputy Director of Productivity Centre, Jiangsu Province; Mr Jiang Wei Ming, Executive Vice Chairman of Suzhou Dushu Lake Higher Education Town Administrative Office; and Mr Yu Ji Qiang, Deputy Director of Science and Technology Development Bureau.During the visit, Prof Xu Guo Qin, Director of NUSRI, reported on the current state of the development in NUSRI, strategic directions, and long-term goals of NUSRI. 

Dr Jiang was impressed by the progress made by NUSRI within a short time span. He remarked that NUSRI, being the very first research institute set up by a world class, foreign university, was an innovative working model, but faced unavoidably challenges in conducting research collaboration across multiple nations. As such, he reassured that his office would provide its fullest support to work with NUSRI to discover a sustainable mode of global research collaboration.  

Recently, NUSRI has received notification of her successful application for the grant on Jiangsu Province Funding for Enterprise-Academic-Research Innovation Platforms. Being the only institution in the Suzhou Industrial Park successful in her application of the grant, NUSRI continues her aim working towards a first-class, sustainable, global institute. (By Kidd)
