Visit by delegation from Jiangnan led by Mr Philip Lim


On 8 May 2018, 45 teachers and students from School of Food Science and Technology of Jiangnan University visited NUSRI. The visit was led by Mr Zhang Wen, Deputy Secretary of Party Committee of Jiangnan University and Vice Dean of School of Food Science and Technology of Jiangnan University; and Associate Professor Xie Yunfei, Vice Dean of School of Food Science and Technology of Jiangnan University. Professor Xu Guo Qin, Director of NUSRI; Associate Professor Zhou Zhiying, Associate Director of NUSRI; and Associate Professor Huang Dejian from Food Science and Technology Programme of NUS received the delegation. 



Associate Professor Zhou Zhiying and Associate Professor Huang Dejian elaborated on the development of “3+1+1” Programme and Food Science and Technology at NUS. Both parties exchanged ideas on the issue of building a long-term collaborative partnership on “3+1+1” Programme. 



With the aim of cultivating professional innovative talents, “3+1+1” programme and “3+1+1 Pre-master” Programme are jointly initiated by the National University of Singapore, National University of Singapore Suzhou Research Institute, and Chinese partner universities. It is a five-year study programme which includes three years of undergraduate study at partner universities in China, one year of bridging course at NUSRI, and one year of postgraduate study at NUS. Students will be awarded the B.Sc. degree from partner universities and the M.Sc. degree from NUS having met all the academic requirements.
