Talent connection, Technology innovation | The 1st Three Institutes NUSRI SZ-XJTUSZ-NCEPUSZ International Youth Scientific Forum held at NUSRI SZ
On 21st June, the 1st Three Institutes NUSRI SZ-XJTUSZ-NCEPUSZ International Youth Scientific Forum (TIIYSF) was held at NUSRI SZ. The forum was jointly organized by Three Institutes Federation of Overseas Chinese and Service Station for Overseas Chinese. (Herein NUSRI SZ refers to National University of Singapore Suzhou Research Institute; XJTUSZ refers to Xi’an Jiaotong University Suzhou Academy; NCEPUSZ refers to Suzhou Institute of North China Electric Power University)
The event was attended by Ms Zhang Xiaoying, Vice Minister of the United Front Work Department of Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP), Chairman of SIP Federation of Overseas Chinese, and Director of Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of SIP; Professor Xu Guo Qin, Vice-Chairman of SIP Federation of Overseas Chinese, and Director of NUSRI SZ; Mr Liew Seow Ngow, Vice-Chairman of Three Institutes Federation of Overseas Chinese, and Deputy Director of NUSRI SZ. Over 60 participants that included members from Service Station for Overseas Chinese and youth talents from Three Institutes Federation of Overseas Chinese engaged in this forum.
Dr Xie Xianning stated that along with the close collaboration on science and education amongst the three institutes, TIIYSF were expected to build a stronger connection among the Returned Overseas Chinese, effectively improve the Overseas Chinese Affairs, and increase the communication on technical innovation among the young scholars, the researchers and the Returned Overseas Chinese. Additionally, Ms Zhang Xiaoying stressed that Overseas Chinese Affairs in colleges and universities and the establishment of interscholastic Federation of Overseas Chinese was a crucial part of SIP’s development which was driven by innovation and talents.
The TIIYSF aims to provide a platform for discussion and communication for Returned Overseas Chinese, overseas students, young scholars, and scientific researchers. The related field of the forum includes material science, energy and environmental protection, biological technology, food science and technology, and mechanical and electronic engineering. The forum welcomes all the researchers to share their innovative research and achievements on the related fields.
