The 1st NUS-SNU-NUSRI Joint Workshop on Nanocatalysis for Environmental Applications held at NUSRI
Jointly organised by National University of Singapore (NUS), National University of Singapore Suzhou Research Institute (NUSRI) and Shanghai Normal University (SNU), the 1st NUS-SNU-NUSRI Joint Workshop on “Nanocatalysis for Environmental Applications” was held at the Department of Chemistry of NUS from 27th to 29th July 2018.
Professor Chen Wei, Director and Senior Investigator of Laboratory of Energy and Environment Interface Engineering at NUSRI, was appointed chairman of the workshop. Thirty professionals and academics from around the world participated in this event.
The workshop started off with an opening address by Professor Chen Wei. This was followed by five keynote speeches by Professor Zhu Yongfa from Tsinghua Univesity; Professor Dong Lin from Nanjing University; Professor Zhu Jian from SNU; Professor Su Chenliang from Shenzhen University; and Professor Zhang Fang from SNU. In the afternoon, three keynote speeches were made by Professor Bian Zhenfeng from SNU; Professor Xie Jianping from NUS; and Professor Lu Jiong from NUS. The scientists had the opportunity to share their recent research findings on the issue of Nanocatalysis for Environmental Applications.
In addition, the workshop also incorporated lab visits and roundtable discussions for scientists to exchange views on their recent research progress and to foster research collaboration. The two-day workshop aims to build long-term scientific links and collaborations between eminent scientists in their field of expertise.
