Visit by delegation from A*STAR led by Mr Philip Lim


On 3rd August 2018, Delegation of Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) visited NUSRI. The visit was led by Mr Philip LIM, CEO of Exploit Technologies Pte Ltd (ETPL), A*STAR; Mr LIAU Eng Soon, Director of Industry Development Group of A*STAR, and Ms Gloria LEE, Manager of Incubation & Startup Management of ETPL, A*STAR. The guests were welcomed by Mr HUI Kowk Leong, Associate Director of NUSRI (Enterprise); Dr XIE Xianning, Associate Director of NUSRI (Research); Mr ZHANG Peng and Ms XU Qingji, Assistant Director of NUSRI. 



Mr HUI Kowk Leong and Dr XIE Xianning talked about the progress of NUSRI, NUSRI’s Enterprise and NUSRI’s Research respectively. Mr. HUI highlighted the achievements of BLOCK71 Suzhou and expressed that BLOCK71 Suzhou will provide world-class excellence in research, education, technology transfer and commercialisation. Dr XIE Xianning then proceeded to introduce the latest research achievements. He stated that NUSRI will continue to be the linchpin in collaboration on technology innovation and commercialisation between China and Singapore, thus serving the regional development of China.   



Additionally, the guests paid a site visit to BLOCK71 Suzhou and its laboratories. Mr HUI Kowk Leong and Dr XIE Xianning shared with them the advantages and achievements in NUSRI’s original research and technology commercialisation. 



A*STAR is Singapore's official research cluster, dedicated to the development of cutting-edge science and technology. Mr. Philip LIM hopes that both parties can explore new modes of collaboration to promote technology innovation and economic development between China and Singapore.
