2013 PJC Entrepreneurship Trip

National University of Singapore Research Institute (NUSRI) successfully concluded the Pioneer Junior College (PJC) Entrepreneurship Trip on 2nd December 2013. This programme commenced on 25th November 2013, and brought a total of 4 academic staff and a select group of 30 PJC students to China. PJC is a two-year pre-university college in Singapore, and NUSRI was responsible for the education aspect of this entrepreneurship trip.

This programme provided insights into current developments of the Suzhou Industrial Park and NUSRI research fields, thus enabling participants to explore China's breathtaking landscapes and better appreciate its bustling economy. In a programme that hoped to ignite passion for entrepreneurship, students attended a series of lectures, workshops, discussions, and industrial visits. Students were also introduced to business plan writing. In an exercise to consolidate their learning, students were challeged to come up with original business plans, and ultimately pitch their ideas to a panel of judges.

In retrospect, our participants not only acquired comprehensive knowledge on business and research, but we also equipped with skills for life. This programme won high praise from PJC teachers and students, and we are pleased that PJC is keen for future collaborations with NUSRI.
