2018 MI Immersion Programme

20 students and 3 teachers from Millennia Institute (MI) came to National University of Singapore (Suzhou) Research Institute (NUSRI) to attend the immersion programme on 28 May. NUSRI Immersion programme aims to help international students to understand Chinese economy and culture, cultivate students innovation and entrepreneurship.

In terms of course arrangement, we invited professional mentor to assist students in building their own business plans. Students also had the chance to visit Suzhou First Silk Factory and household appliance manufacturers – Ecovacs. As a century-old plant, the First Silk Factory has profound cultural background. In here, students observed the hard-working silkworm babies and witnessed the production process of the traditional silk products.

In Ecovacs, the lovely robot receptionist, Wangbao, hosted us. Students also have experienced lots of activities such as robot painting, playing chess with robot, had a talk with the multilingual robot, Sanbao.

Besides the academic course, MI students also had the chance to visit Suzhou Humble Administrator's Garden, Oriental Pearl Tower and Shanghai Museum.

It was the seventh time that Millennia Institute students participate in our immersion programme.
