Professor Sun Yeneng has been appointed as Acting Director of Risk Management Institute (RMI). He is Goh Keng Swee Professor of Economics and Professor of Mathematics in NUS. Formerly he was Raffles Professor of Social Sciences (2009-2015). Professor Sun has held various administrative positions in NUS; in particular, he has served as Head/Acting Head of the Economics Department (2008-2012), Deputy Director of the Institute for Mathematical Sciences (2001-2004), and Member of University Promotion and Tenure Committee (2002-2004). He was Deputy/Associate Director of the Centre for Financial Engineering – the RMI predecessor (2000-2002) and Member of RMI Management Board (2010-2012). He has also been Chair of the Finance and Risk Management Cluster Interdisciplinary Speaker Series (since 2012), and Chair of Management Board for Centre for Quantitative Finance (since 2015).
Professor Sun serves on the Editorial Board of three Springer journals: Economic Theory, Economic Theory Bulletin and Annals of Finance. He was Scientific Advisor of Research Centre for Mathematical Modelling at Germany’s Bielefeld University (2008-2016) and is Advisory Committee Member of the Institute of Economics in Academia Sinica in Taiwan. His awards and honors include NUS Outstanding University Researcher Award (1998), National Science Award in Singapore (2000), Fellow of the Society for the Advancement of Economic Theory (2011), and Fellow of Singapore National Academy of Science (2014).
